~~~About Me~~~
"One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it's worth watching."
~Gerard Way
My name is Jasdeep Bains and am the youngest of three siblings. That little bit of information basically sums up my position in my family: I am the one everyone comes to when they have a job they do not want to do, the one that no one takes seriously, and the one who is probably the most craziest in the whole house. Not that I am complaining, of course. I was born in Los Angeles but my family moved to Lindsay when I was two years old, so I can safely say that Lindsay is my one and only hometown. Growing up was an interesting experience since I had a sister nine years my senior and a brother two years my senior, so I really did not have anyone to relate to throughout my early childhood, but that does not mean I did not find a way to stir up trouble on my own. I mean, what child can resist the urge? My dad was often away at work because he was still finding a comfortable routine at his job, so I did not see much of him until middle school, when he started to become a more active part of my life instead of being content with watching me from the sidelines and is now an integral part of it. My mom is a stay-at-home mom and devotes all her time to ensuring that my dad, my siblings, and I never have to worry about a thing. Needless to say, my whole family is very close, with everyone knowing each other' s business, happiness, anxiety, dreams, and worries, especially my siblings and I since we have developed this healthy sense of competition to out-do the other, all the while offering support to the other whenever they need it. It works.
Drifting away from the topic of my family, I personally see myself as a headstrong person who does first, thinks later, and regrets constantly. I know I am not perfect and do not try to be; I am comfortable in my own groove and have found a lot of people who are comfortable with me as well. However, that does not mean I do not know when to step back from an argument and let the other person win or make efforts to be friendly with everyone and anyone. People most often describe me as smart, funny, and nice - usually in that order. I agree with them to an extent (I am not trying to be shallow here), but I sometimes feel there is more to me than those three words - what exactly, I still do not know, but intend to find out.
"Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great."
~Mark Twain
