Future Business Leaders of America
I was initially introduced to this club through my older siblings and was immediately interested. I joined my freshmen year and actively competed in the Central Section Conference both my freshmen and sophomore years and in the State Conference my junior year. Throughout my 3 years involved in FBLA, I have managed to recruit many of my friends and classmates. I am now the 2015-2016 Vice President of Community Service.
FBLA has impacted my journey throughout high school by making me more involved in my community through various community service projects and influencing me to step into a position of leadership. Because of this club, I feel I have become more punctual and goal oriented.

California Scholarship FederationI have been a member of CSF since my sophomore year. I was introduced to this club by my older brother, who encouraged me to join saying that it will prove to be beneficial in the long run. It has already began proving to be so. CSF has encouraged me to work harder in my classes so that I will able to qualify every semester.

Drama ClubJunior year was my first year in Drama Club. The experience I got from being involved in this club will be one I will never forget. I was part of the Crew in the Zombies From the Beyond production and was one of the main people in charge of the many special effects. Throughout the play, I met a lot of people with diverse personalities that I got along with, making me realize that I am usually a reserved person and that I need to make more of an effort to socialize. Being a part of the Crew has given me a much sharper attention span and the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities at once. Zombies From the Beyond was an unforgettable production.

TennisI joined the Lindsay High School Girls Tennis team my sophomore year. I had wanted to join my freshmen year, but missed the deadline to join, so a trio of my friends and I joined together. My first year in tennis was a bit dull since I was in Junior Varsity in a team of 30 girls. However, by the end of the season, many of my teammates had left the team since the season was a bad one and I got the opportunity to play my first Varsity match at the last game of the season. Pretty much the same thing occurred with our teammates my junior year as well. However, that season I was a steady Varsity player and all of my teammates that stuck through to the end and I improved as an overall team because of the dedication of our new Coach.

Track and FieldI was a part of the Track and Field team only during my sophomore year; I had joined with a couple of friends. The season proved to be a difficult but satisfying one since our Coach made sure to push us to our limits. As a team, we did not win much, nor in our individual competitions, but every member of our team, myself included, did manage to break our personal best records almost every time. The only regret I can say the team had as a whole was not placing in most of our meets. Aside from that, my involvement in the team allowed me to meet new people, achieve my personal goals, and develop a much more positive attitude.

Advancement Via Individual Determination
I have a part of the 2016 Avid family since my freshmen year. The class as a whole has faced a lot of ups and downs since there were many students dropping the class and some new additions, but by far the greatest change I have experienced was the changing of our advisor. This happened in the transition between our sophomore year and junior year. In the long run, this change proved to be beneficial to our Avid class overall since our new advisor made us more goal oriented and focused on our classwork more than our extracurricular activities. However, this did not mean she wanted us to avoid it completely; in fact, she taught us how to juggle the two. In our Junior year alone, our class has become closer than it ever was in the previous two years. I can proudly say that being in the 2016 Avid class, has made me a better student, better person, and a better classmate.
